Labradorite: Metaphysical Meanings

Labradorite is a calcium-enriched feldspar mineral first identified in Labrador, Canada, but which today is is mostly mined in Madagascar.
The distinctive iridescent effect of labradorite is due to the interference of light rays within its layered structure, giving it an otherworldly glow called ‘Labradorescence.’
The otherworldly glow of 'Labradorescence'
Beyond the bright blue and green shimmer of Labradorite, there will occasionally be a glow with a myriad of brilliant rich colors like golden, pink, orange, or purple. This is sometimes called Spectrolite, which was originally found in Finland.

We often pair Purple Labradorite with rich, sparkling Amethyst to compliment the bright purple flash of the Labradorite. Our customers call our Purple Labradorite, ‘Spectacularite’!
